Gramercy Tavern, NYC

My long time favourite, cozy but glamorous, professional but friendly. This time autumn lunch tasting menu:

Small amuse bouche, sort of lobster with spices on bread, delicious.

Marinated scallops, fluke, plums and almonds. Tasty, but combination of scallops and plums was a bit adventurous.

Red snapper withe tomatoes, shell beans and olives. Fabulous, surprisingly inspiring combination of snapper and beans !

Pasta – Farfalle with chorizo, mussels and calamari. Might be sounding strange but in reality one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Lovely Ciliegiolo from Umbria made the finishing trick.

Duck breast, cabbage, blueberries and juniper. Great autumn food, well balanced, sinfully tasty !

Vanilla rice pudding, pomegranate, pistachio, basil… Great finish !

Some lovely petit fours

All in all, great restaurant, great experience, proven by years, but always inspiring. One of must haves in NYC.
